Imagine a school nestled in the foothills of the majestic Ngong Hills, a place the Maasai call "Kiserian" - meaning "place of peace." This is the inspiring backdrop for De Porres High School for boys, a school that holds a very special place in the hearts of EYW.

Since De Porres' inauguration just 3 years ago, EYW has been honored to partner with them. Together, we're building a future where men and women can co-create, with equal opportunities. This year marks the first generation of students graduating from our Empowering Educational Programme (EEP).

Support the hiring qualified STEM teachers skilled in the new Kenyan educational system launched in 2023. They'll inspire the love for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.
Provide Educational materials specifically tailored to DePorres students' needs and learning styles.
Bricks and mortar: community-built managed to give back to the community where the School is located.

Needs assessment and Project Planning and Design
Build the laboratory: Infraestructure development
Equip the Laboratory: scientific instruments, computers, software, educational materials, and safety gear.
Training and Capacity Building: training and professional development opportunities for teachers and staff to effectively utilize the laboratory equipment and incorporate hands-on, inquiry-based learning approaches into their teaching practices.
Sustainability and community engagement: Encourage community involvement and ownership of the laboratory, empowering stakeholders to take pride in and contribute to its success. Ensuring the sustainability of the project beyond its initial implementation phase and first use is essential.
Budget I Year 1 2024: $33,190 > Year 2 2025: $47,798 > Year 3 2026: $22,933.
Goals
Rippling through generations to come as it empowers students to dream big, reach their full potential, and become agents of positive transformation in their communities and beyond.
Ensuring the continuity of the School with its doors open. Private Schools in Kenya lack of primary resources to survive yet their endeavour is essential in growing population
Increase in the number of students that can receive education. +500 will benefit in the next 3 years
Close the gap in inadquate infastructure, training and unqualifed teachers.
Promote STEM careers, the sector that promises the highest growth in Kenya
