The Sanitation Project
A Healthy Start to Education
Healthy EYW® Education
Objetives
This project focuses on health, education, and sustainability. By reducing diseases and ensuring access to clean water, it fosters better hygiene practices and improves school attendance. It also integrates hygiene education, mental health awareness, and architectural skills into the curriculum, empowering students with hands-on learning while contributing to the design and construction of the facilities. The use of sustainable materials and energy-efficient systems ensures a lasting positive impact.
Impact
This initiative has both immediate and long-term impacts. In the short term, it will improve health and safety conditions, increasing school attendance. Over time, the project aims to reduce illness caused by poor sanitation, enhance academic performance, and instill generational improvements in community health practices. With these changes, students gain not only healthier lives but also brighter futures.
Collaborative Parthership
Collaboration is at the heart of this project. Experts in various fields are working together to bring it to fruition. Todd Walker and Gavin Taylor from Compass Therapeutic Alliance lead the mental health aspect, ensuring psychological well-being. Healthcare expertise is provided by Matthew D’Costa from Southend University Hospital, and Rose Murray from These White Walls contributes to the architectural and interior design, creating spaces that are functional, sustainable, and inspiring.

Sanitation Project
Building a Healthier Future for All
Our Goal
To provide access to safe, hygienic sanitation facilities for all students, fostering a healthier, more dignified learning environment while empowering the school community to sustain and expand these improvements.
Why Is It Important?
Public Health: Over 40% of infectious diseases in these communities are linked to inadequate sanitation. Access to proper facilities can significantly reduce health risks and save lives.
Empowering Women and Girls: Women and girls are disproportionately affected by the lack of proper sanitation. Access to clean and private facilities allows them to attend school, participate in the workforce, and live with dignity.
Community Development: Sanitation infrastructure contributes to healthier, more resilient communities, paving the way for sustainable development.
Through the Sanitation Project, EYW aims to break the cycle of poverty by addressing one of its most critical yet overlooked barriers.
Together, we can transform lives, one facility at a time.
